Jovanny "Jio" Astudillo
Jio enjoys the process of tattooing as much as the finished product. Arranging various elements, themes and styles is therapeutic for a soft-spoken individual whose quiet demeanor belies a certain brand of madness lurking beneath the surface. Jio's versatility is a testament to training in an eclectic blend of disciplines. A background in architecture design sharpened his ability to create geometric tattoos with impeccably clean lines. Still-life painting gave him a keen understanding of shading and spacing. The work of Japanese traditionalist Mutsuo Nakabayashi and Blackwork artist Alexander Grim has provided Jio with knowledge of styles from around the world, and experience with graffiti gave him the fearlessness to tinker with the boundaries of those styles.
